Why color-coding isn't optional

Skewers, not just forks, for hot pot and oil fondue

For 12 guests running a single course, the base count is a flat 24 forks regardless of spare setting. At the calculator's default 15% buffer that becomes 28; push the buffer to a more generous 25% for a higher-stakes dinner or a table with young children prone to dropping utensils, and the total climbs to 30 — a two-fork difference that's cheap to buy up front and considerably more annoying to discover you're short of once the table's already seated. Materials and length, not just count
The count matters, but so does what the forks are actually made of and how long their handles are.
